A confidential Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study was undertaken under NDA for the early-stage development of a large-scale bulk liquid storage facility.

The concept involved assessing multiple layout options and preparing a capital cost estimate for a new facility comprising 20 storage tanks arranged within four bunds, along with associated infrastructure, roads, utilities, and drainage systems. The facility design considered storage for a variety of liquid products, with import/export capability via pipeline, marine loading, road tanker, and on-site road blending.

Key design considerations included the receipt and management of process effluent, surface water, and foul water, as well as preliminary containment and drainage design and the integration of utility systems.

Scope of Work included:

• Development of P&IDs
• Product compatibility and segregation study for bund arrangements
• Preliminary sizing of lines, pumps, and equipment
• Development, review, and selection of preliminary layout and pipe routing options
• Initial civil engineering requirements and review of available geotechnical reports
• Preliminary structural design for main steelwork, pipe racks, and tracks
• Basis of Design and Control Philosophy documentation
• Road and traffic flow studies, including road loading facilities and tanker heating bays
• Initial constructability and project phasing assessments
• HAZID study
